Oat Porridge

About the recipe


*I made it dessert format, but if you want it for breakfast or are hungry, I recommend making double the amount.

-1/4 cup oats

-1/3 cup water

-1/3 cup vegetable milk (or whatever you want)

- Whatever you use to sweeten to taste (white sugar, cane sugar, coconut sugar, stevia, sweetener drops)

- 1 large spoonful of bitter cocoa

-Optional: 1 teaspoon cinnamon



- Add the water, milk and oats to a small pot over medium heat. Stir constantly, being careful not to stick. The oats will absorb the liquid and little by little a paste will form.

- after approximately 5 minutes, we add the sweetener and cinnamon. We continue stirring.

- Finally we add the cocoa and stir well.

When is it ready?

Depends! If you like it thicker, leave it longer. If you like more liquid, take it out sooner. Once you turn off the stove, keep stirring for a few minutes because it will still continue cooking.

We transfer the mixture to a bowl and now the most entertaining part: the toppings! Here in the photo I left you two options, almonds with chocolate or strawberries with chocolate (or both?). Use your imagination! You can put seeds, banana 🍌, some syrup, peanut butter 🥜... whatever you like.
